Pre-Spring fishing is a blast

Pre-Spring fishing is a blast

https://ift.tt/7eNLEUi

For most of you. Hope you guys are enjoying it. June 15th-Nov 30th authorized to target bass in upstate NY. Gonna have to go after some toothy critters when the lakes/rivers thaw hopefully soon. Maybe I will accidentally hook into a giant football, that would be terrible.

Re: BFS fishing and Swimbaits?

Re: BFS fishing and Swimbaits?

https://ift.tt/piAL5gG

I know this thread title may be head scratcher for some, but read on and here me out.

Imho swimbaits are a “must have” bait every angler should have tied on at all times, especially while fishing in FL. These baits come in a variety of shapes, lengths, and sizes. When a swimbait is matched correctly to the fishing conditions, catch quantity and quality can be off the charts.

So how do swimbaits and a BFS system (Bait Finesse System) tie in together?

When we hear the word swimbait, most think big baits. Which is true, for me however, I think about how small of a swimbait and how light can I throw it?

In the spring many species of fish spawn. Especially a variety of bait fish. For us, this means a plethora of baby native and non-native bait fish. Bass (and Peacock  ;)) go nuts this time of year, gorging themselves on all these baby bait fish.

Here’s where fishing with a BFS System and a Tiny Swimbait come into play. An angler can “match the hatch” along with matching the correct gear to fish with a tiny swimbait effectively.

Gear considerations:

Rods: Light to Medium Light

Reels: Spinning or BFS baitcasters

Line: Light braid, mono, fc or leaders

Terminal Tackle: Small jig heads (2/0 or less)

If your looking for something different to try, I highly recommend fishing this system, it can be very rewarding.

Re: Lure action speaks LOUDER to fish

Re: Lure action speaks LOUDER to fish

Thanks, Dark. I’ve been catching fish on lures bought and those I’ve made for over 20 years and I can’t ignore the evidence. (I added more to the original post BTW)

One more thing when it comes to lures: those that thump the lateral line and those that tickle the senses.

You can figure out which category the lures mentioned fall into. Sometime are noisy, big action, large size and visually prominent lures that catch fish.
At other times, finesse action is key such as when there is the need for a drop shot nose-hooked worm quivering in place.

Fish are like me: very touchy and aggressive at times (i.e. me honking at a.holes who cut me off) or more sedate, requiring just a bit more finesse to get me to do what the wife wanted done – yesterday.

Good morning to all from Central Texas

8)

It rained all day yesterday and last night we had numerous severe thunderstorms move across our area.  Lots of heavy rain with some tornados and hail being reported in the surrounding communities.  All we got was high winds and hard rain.  No damage done to our property thank goodness.  Forecasted temps for today are 41-55 dgrs with a N wind @ 16mphs with 37% humidity.  The sun is supposed to be coming out later on today as the sky starts clearing.

We got up and went out for breakfast at the Black Bear Diner over in Harker Heights.  I hurt myself eating again.  I had the Grizz Breakfast meal which included 3eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, hash browns and 2 pancakes.  Black coffee, orange juice and water.  I am good for the rest of the day

:surrender:

We’re off to the movies here shortly after that there’s nothing planned except relaxing.

Allen; I like that boat.  Make sure you drop in the Aluminum Boat section and post some pictures.

Bud; Glad your new bowling ball arrived.   So did it help you improve you score?

To everyone have a really pleasant day today.

HELP TANNER BEAT CANCER!!!

HELP TANNER BEAT CANCER!!!

https://ift.tt/rvBWEYC

You may have never met him but Tanner Smith a.k.a. @sanjuanandeggs is a dude with a big smile, bigger personality, and you’ve at least seen him on the regular in many, many, many Trouts Fly Fishing videos over the years.  From the times I’ve been around him, he’s the definition of a "Good Dude".

Tanner was recently diagnosed with Stage IV gastric cancer and a GoFundMe has been set up in his behalf to help cover everything that he’ll need help with over the coming months.

Over the last couple of days, many have stepped up already with a donation but yours would be helpful as well he’s got a long road ahead of him to beat this cancer.

Want to help?  Jump over to the GoFundMe page and also take a minute to send Tanner a note of encouragement on Instagram.

Ready for Spring Golf? Western Birch Retro Fly Tees Special

Ready for Spring Golf? Western Birch Retro Fly Tees Special

https://ift.tt/kqONzEW

We’ve been deep into "spring" golf here since January since Finn’s school team started daily practice sessions, tryouts, and now into their season with matches and tournaments.  We’re having a great time following him this spring even if we’re on a golf course six to seven days a week.

With the 2023 Masters at Augusta National just a few weeks away, I thought it would be fun to run a special on the Western Birch Retro Fly Tees in the T.F.M. Shop now through Sunday, April 9th, 2023.

For the next three weeks, the Western Fly Retro Fly Tees will be discounted to $15 for the first box shipped and $10 for each additional box of tees ordered.  Each order will include a T.F.M. sticker pack with one of each of the decals in the above photograph.

Send an email to thefiberglassmanifesto@gmail.com to place an order.  I can take PayPal, Venmo, credit card, or check.

Will the Retro Fly tees make you play better? Maybe not. Do they look damn good? Yes. Yes, they do.

Visit the T.F.M. Shop for these and other offerings to rep The Fiberglass (and Persimmon) Manifesto.
